@geordie yes to giant classical statues. It should be like a Batman & Robin (1997) street race up in here.I always thought that all Packer had to do was put some cool 20 story statue on top of his casino and he finally would have gotten the love he craved.

The time has come. After about 9 years of increasing gravity, over Christmas I'm going to weedwhacker my hair off. We've had some times. We've Gandalf the Grey'd. I was a pretty little pony. But I'm looking forward to a cool and streamlined Australian summer. Digital bathroom scales are one of those things where you initially think "sure, that might be easier", and they're cheap and ubiquitous so they're common sense, but then you realise: "Wait. I will have to be replacing batteries in this thing forever, there are any number of electronic parts that could break easily (especially in a damp bathroom) AND it creates e-waste? Why are we, as a society, doing this?" THE INTERFACE IS NEGLIGIBLY MORE CONVENIENT AND THE DOWNSIDES ARE SO ANNOYING! 🗣️📢

My stepmother continues to have the creepiest and most unsettling fucking house ornaments I've encountered in my life. They've followed them through an intercity relocation. Like, there have been multiple rounds of Boomer downsizing, and these monstrosities have somehow survived each cull. They're here with Intent.The koala one is with me in the guest room where I'm staying, and I literally drape a large jumper over it so I don't have to look at it. 😬

@futurebird there are also patterns that make maths not inherently intuitive; if you increase something by 100% you double it, so you might make a reasonable assumption that if you invert that and decrease 100% you'd get back to where you started. I.e. if an increase by 100% = x2shouldn't a decrease by 100% = /2?Wrong, but not *obviously* wrong.
