I do quite like that #LinuxMint has somewhat de-commercialised Ubuntu, but I do think that it would be so awesome if they made LMDE their main release. I always get a fair bit of (justified) push-back on that spicy hot #Linux take but I genuinely stand by it.

@ChrisWere It's not hot anymore.A lot of people actually believe that. And with Flatpak, Nix and Guix, the "packages are too old" argument is weaker than ever.

@ChrisWere I changed over to Linux Mint Debian Edition last night - a clean install. A little fussiness on the first boot, but that could be my computer. After that it was just reloading the few graphics apps I use. Overall, an excellent Mint experience. It should be the default.Bravo #LinuxMintDebianEdition #LinuxMint

@thinking_images @ChrisWere The thing I most like about LMDE is that the Base system is from Debian. Ubuntu is great. They were the first distribution of Linux that was made for humans, as it was marketed. But since Ubuntu is a product of Canonical, any decisions the Company makes will affect Ubuntu, hence will affect Linux Mint proper, which is based on Ubuntu. Debian is a community Linux distribution. Changes to the distro would have to be "seen by many more eyes" before being implemented.
