@darice The "spot" brand of messengers includes text using satellites. Also voice and GPS, but text for sure.https://www.findmespot.com/en-usAlso look at Gotenna. Does not necessarily access satellites, but does form a mesh network. Sometimes being able to for-sure be in contact with one or two specific people can be just as good as potentially being in touch with the whole world.https://gotenna.com/
