@Sustainable2050 Fireworks are great, any sacrifices carried out in the pursuit of big boom are justified.Also, they're literally gunpowder charges wrapped in paper. They're the very definition of danger. If you're so stupid as to grab a literal bomb, activate it, and then not be careful with it, you deserve the wounds.Blaming fireworks for it is as dumb as running into a pointy fence at full sprint and then blaming metal rods for getting skewered. The fence is there, unmoving, in plain view, making it clear you'll get hurt if you interact with it. It's your choice to get wounded.You can make a valid argument about spending tax money on it, but then that's easily solved by running a referendum. If a majority of people want them, it's a justified expense.Regarding pets, if I have to suffer the painfully loud sound of barking year-round, dogs can take some fireworks twice a year. Otherwise just ban both.
