I need a third backup. I don't want to go back to the feeling I suffered during the minutes when I only had the backup from my NAS when my home server failed.Restoring from my NAS worked like a charm, but what if...If I do it at work why wouldn't I do it with my personal data.#homelab #selfhosting

@alejandrobdnLazy way: Backups with #borgmatic to local folder, network folder on NAS and remote to BordBase and/or Hetzner Storage Box with one configuration.

@selea Sorry, it is not a NAS but a Icybox DAS in raid 5 mode. The chances of multiple failures were remote, but I'm one of those people who suffer concatenation of unexpected events so a drop of sweat or two ran down my forehead in those moments. It won't happen again.

@alejandrobdn for me it depends on the kind of data. Bulk data where I can probably DL the most of it again gets only snapraid so if a disk dies I don't loose too much. But unique personal data is all in my Nextcloud and I make incremental backups every night and full backups every week (deleted after 90days). And every few months I put them on hard drives outside of my house.

@DrRac27 This is what I do at work, but I'm going to do the same at home since there are photos of people who are no longer with us. I can't screw it up.

@alejandrobdn Aight :)Might look into Wasabi S3-storage maybe? Quite cheap, and suitable for offsite-backups :)

@selea I have already bought the hard drives and enclosure to make the third backup that I will keep in another place, as I do at work, but this option you point out is very interesting for other tasks that I need to undertake in the office. I did not know Wasabi-S3, thanks again!
