@unclepj Which is actually... not a bad algorithm for certain things. It benefits from temporal locality (something referenced recently is more likely to be referenced in the future) and physical locality (something used in place X is more likely to be used there again). That's why computers often evict the Least-Recently-Used data from levels of cache, memory, and storage.

@abananabag My brain does this as well. It’s like a buffer. A quite shallow buffer. I could use a memory upgrade. 😫
