       Hey – there's an error widely made after Brexit that I see a lot of Americans starting to make.Some bad economic stuff is starting to happen to people who voted the wrong way.The deep temptation is to say "we told you so, you dumb fucks, I have zero sympathy".OK, yeah, some of these people are racists. No sympathy.But!Millions of them are (let's be frank) low-education, low-information voters who thought they were voting for cheaper groceries.You will need them. Don't push them away.

       Don't confuse fascists who enthusiastically voted for fascism with people who are a bit dim and didn't know what they were voting for.That is two very different kinds of people."But we warned them!" They didn't hear it."We told them every day!" Yeah, in some online bubble where you are and they are not.And guess what – people who voted for a better economic situation and don't get it tend to get angry.Bring them into the tent as much as you can instead of lashing out at them.

       The popularity of the "leopards eating faces" sort of stuff is a bad sign when this has only barely started to happen.You can be smug for four years or you can build a resistance. Those two things pull in different directions.
