If you’re looking for a browser extension like Stylus (which lets you override browser styles, scoped to specific sites) for Safari on macOS, check out Cascadea. It’s by an independent developer (Mike Freuden), doesn’t farm you for your data, and seems to do what it says on the tin (in my limited few minutes of testing right now¹) :)https://cascadea.app¹ I’m using it to hide the controls on the local export of my slides.com presentation.#macOS #safari #stylus #cascadea #css #web #dev

@aral I use Cascadea and it works well, however, its last update was 2 years ago and I just hope that it never breaks.

@yatil Given it’s an indie dev, if it does and he doesn’t have time, maybe we can convince him to open source it and we can help :)

@aral @yatil >doesn’t farm you for your dataThere is no reasonably way to check the claims, so the only safe assumption is that it is spyware unless proved not to be.Convincing a developer to make something source-available isn't the greatest - the developer should really be respecting the users freedom by releasing it as free software (too bad I'm not sure if the macos store actually allows software on it to be free - as the iOS store requires that all cr...apps be released under a proprietary license after all).

@aral It‘s probably financially not a good deal, for them, because it’s niche. I would happily pay a subscription or support an OS project to keep it on life support.
