I just added the consult package to my :emacs: #Emacs config, and for doing that I had to read some manual and do some experiments to understand some of the functions and the dynamics. And this got me thinking and ultimately I rediscovered this fact for the hundred time:Emacs is hard to pick up, and it takes ages to configure, but when it is configured, it feels like the extension of your body. many things come naturally and without even thinking about it. It is quite a powerful ecosystem.

Btw, if anyone is interested to take a look at my #Emacs config, it can be found in the following URL. Any feedback is warmly welcome 🤓 :https://codeberg.org/mehrad/.emacs.d

@Mehrad I'm still patiently working on my own config to make it usable.

@10leejIt's a Never ending journey 😅. I recently (very recently) and retrospectivly realized that the best approch is not to fight the software's (e.g Emacs, Vim) default choices (especially keybindings) if they are not extremely ridiculous. It helps easier adoption as my brain can get used to change faster than I can change the software to get compatible with my muscle memory.

@Mehrad I'll be honest I'm kinda a red headed step child who barely really knows vim except a couple bindings while emacs I find myself learning more and more but can't justify to myself changing.

@10leejLet me show you the light 😜Of course you should use the tool that you feel more comfortable with. Also it is a good practice not to limit your choices to one option. I have almost completely moved away from Neovim and I'm using Emacs. As a backup I also have micro on my computer in case my Emacs dies and I don't have time to fix it:https://micro-editor.github.io/
