How do you feel about your own laugh? It's interesting to me that it's fairly common for people to think their laugh sounds off in some way... but, I'm curious how common it is amongst us all ...

OK now same question but it's the laugh of your best friend, favorite family member or significant other. (Pick a close favorite basically)

@futurebird there should be an option that goes "My laugh is super weird and inconsistent, but I like it better that way."

@futurebird I mean, it's more of a cackle. The only bad laugh is a fake laugh that contains no real joy.

@futurebird OK there isn't a "I'm deaf so I have no idea" option but also hearing people LOL they are ... well they think about some interesting stuff and I find it entertaining.

@Pawpower I guess maybe a laugh could "look bad" too though

@futurebird Well, I'm Deafblind so I wouldn't know how it looks but people have different ways of moving their bodies when they laugh or different ways to show laughter in TASL and I like all of them. 🧡

@futurebird I’ve got a fairly natural and appealing range of laughs I can perform when I think they are expected. It’s taken a lot of practice.

@futurebird I've learned to live with it, but it's kind of a trial because it can sound very differently (to me) depending on the state of my sinuses, and so it sometimes surprises me. (I guess it also sounds different to other people as they sometimes express surprise at how it sounds, but I don't really know.)

@futurebird I wouldn't have thought my laugh was that good, but when I went to a taping of Late Night with Craig Ferguson, the warm-up comic pulled me aside after the show and said I had a great laugh, "and I could come back any time." Professional validation! (My laugh was quite recognizable in the aired taping too.)

@futurebird When I saw that most people had voted that their laugh was pretty good, probably, I laughed, and it was sort of a wheezy HNNN-HNNN! sound. Now I'm reconsidering my vote. Dammit.

@futurebird after a stand up show with amazing front and center seats Gilbert Gottfried told me 'nice laugh'
