Since Kalisto is about to outgrow her first in training vest, I purchased a similar one only this one has tiny little packs on it for small, light objects. It just arrived and we tried it on. Still a little bit too big, but it won't be long! I'm not sure if you can see the patches or not, but they say in training. They are black with white letters and the vest is red. #ServiceDog #DogsOfMastodon

While Phoenix was helping me get safely on to a curb, some asshole came up and started petting and speaking to her. Thankfully she ignored him because we train A LOT for this because I need her brace and counterbalance work to be 100 percent since it could be super dangerous for us both if she got distracted. But people, DO NOT TOUCH WORKING DOGS, do not speak to them or make stupid mouth noises! Your "right" to pet the cuuuute dawgie does NOT supersede my right to be safe!

It's a rainy afternoon. Perfect time to do some laundry practice with #ServiceDog in training Callisto! I had a load of jeans and towels and t-shirts in the dryer so I got most of it but she took the huge bath sheet and brought it into my bedroom and on to the bed-- which is where I fold-- and didn't drop it at all! Then she decided that taking a nap on the laundry pile was her reward! #DogsOfMastodon

We went into the yard to throw the ball and Callisto's paws got wet so once we came inside, she got the towel for me to dry her feet . Then we played their favorite game which is where I cover one of the dogs heads with a towel and pretend I can't find her and the other dog rushes over to remove the towel. There is a lot of growling and wrestling involved. Callisto and Phoenix remind you to not panic and always have your towel. Everything else will fall into place! #DogsOfMastodon

I put Callisto to work emptying the dryer to burn off energy. I fold clothes sitting on my bed and she retrieve things from the dryer and brings them to me piece by piece. The laundryis at the other end of the house. Today Phoenix decided to play guardian at the gate and prevented Callisto from crossing the threshold into my bedroom, so Callisto brought everything to right by the bedroom door and then sat and waited for me to notice and make Phee stop being a jerk. #ServiceDog #DogsOfMastodon

Once the dryer was completely cleaned out, Callisto went back and retrieved a stretch bracelet I had put in a muslin bag and forgotten to take out of my pants pocket before putting them through the wash. So she grabbed it and brought it to me which I appreciate! Service with a smile and a wag! She is such a big helper!
