In a recent interview Trump was asked a more pointed question about his calls for "mass deportation" What happens when people see families being separated again?Trump had clearly not thought about this before. But, he quickly sees it as a problem of pure optics not ethics. If no one *sees* "the wrong person" put on the bus. "make is sound like" it's the worst thing that's ever happened. And lets not forget he thinks everyone from Haiti is the right sort of person to put on a bus. I really hope ya'll are taking this seriously. This is it. This is the time you get to decide what you would have done if you lived at one of those points in history where you had to make a choice.

@futurebird it has nothing to do with their legal status. You can tell from his attacks on Haitians. And he's against using due process. They're just gonna round up brown people. It WILL escalate. They'll grab dissidents, and native-born brown people, and anyone inconvenient. It's happened before. America isn't different.

@futurebird humane immigration policy was one of my biggest issues for putting aside my differences with DNC in order to get Trump out….only to watch Biden use immigration as a negotiating chip and then brag about how much better he is at implementing trumps immigration policy than Trump

@futurebird yep. Would love for them to argue for immigration instead of accepting the framing from republicans. Maybe that’s a completely ignorant dream of the realities of domestic politics

@futurebird I wish everyone who claims the two parties are the same would be forced to answer point-blank whether they genuinely think Harris will do what Trump is proposing. The status quo is horrifying enough, we don't need to get into a full-on police state raiding black and brown people's homes, dragging them out at gunpoint, and deporting (or worse) them/us (yes, I am brown).
