@cliffwade Never heard of a rotary phone, is that something to do with a lawn mower?🤔 or is it to do with grassing on someone?

@cliffwade I had a deliciously misspent youth.I remember staying up all night to patch into a neighbor's phone line and download warez from local BBSes without my parents picking up the phone to screw up the transfer and thwart me.You might enjoy this resourcehttp://www.textfiles.com/

@amerika I spent numerous all nighters doing very similar things. I spent so much of my youth using BBS's, and in fact, even ran my own for quite some time. TextFiles.com is such an awesome site! Love that place.

@amerika When I started out, I started at 1200 baud and most everyone in my neighborhood was quite jealous as they were all still on 300 baud at the time. So they looked up to me to run something with that faster speed.

@cliffwade Same here. The kids with acoustic coupler modems envied the 1200 baud kids.

@LostInCalifornia @cliffwade We had some of those, too, including the infamous "back room behind the curtain" where they kept the porn.(No, I never got to see any of these back rooms, but by that point I had already formed a suspicion of porn and the sweaty gumdrops who paid for it.)

@amerika @cliffwade I lived a half mile from Amoeba records. I miss those days. The punk rock bowling alley looked like it was broke, but it had a serious cult following.Others came and went, but those were mainstays.
