       Ooh! I didn't realise this, but this train passes through the Gotthard Base Tunnel! At just over 57km long, it is the longest and deepest railway tunnel in the world.The tunnel was closed between August 2023 and 2 September 2024 due to damage caused by a freight train derailment.

       @the_rail_life Still hoping to get through that tunnel on this trip. My traveling companion's highest remaining priority at this point is Budapest and the M1 line.
