       I'm tired of #Apple taking a monthly $40 bite out of my wallet. I'm also tired of the poor performance from my budget #Synology NAS and the fact that I can't make it any faster without buying a new one. Y'all know what that means: I'm building my own NAS. What's held me up until this point is the lack of a decent alternative to Apple Photos or Synology Photos.I think my wait is over. I did a small trial of #immich, and WOW!        @RockyC you dont even really need to spend a lot of money on a NAS.I'm working on a new episode of my homelab video series where I talk about hardware considerations.

       @10leej Honestly the most expensive part will be the hard drives. I’m planning on using an N100 ITX board with a Jonesbo case as my needs are modest - just #Immich, #Nextcloud, #Jellyfin, and maybe the #Omada controller software. I run #PiHole and #HomeAssistant on their own Raspberry Pi’s because I don’t believe in putting all of your eggs in one basket (NASket?)#HomeLab
