Few people will admit they can be "influenced" and yet people roam around calling themselves "influencers" and no one flinches about this since they are influencing "someone else"There is a whole job category of people doing something nearly everyone swears up and down they don't care about, and aren't ... influenced by.Little odd, isn't it?

The older people I know think of "influencers" as mostly flim flamers who go after the young especially "teen girls" for some reason. (eg Taylor Swift? Who is an artist ... not an "influencer")Young people think of influencers as people who old people would call "political commentators" ... and so on.

@futurebird I try to limit the people I’m influenced by. Several of my YouTube follows I’m actually looking to be influenced, such as a therapist who talks about overcoming childhood trauma. I think it’s wise to acknowledge that we can be influenced and try to be aware of what is influencing us and to control that.

@futurebird I don't really know what an influencer is but I really don't like the #engagmentfarming posts that make up 90% of #Threads. I take these to be from wannabe influencers chasing the algorithm and I think that is why Threads is such an inane site.
