Still trying to read the map. I have been able to log in here, not anywhere else which is fine. I can find twitch, the home page of gigaohmbiological ( sometimes) but can’t log in. Now J.Couey mentioned a list of pdf’s on his homepage related to Bio 101. These are books that seem hard to find. Where is that page? Maybe someone can draw me a map to navigate to… Thanks…philip

You don't have to login to peertube for the live chat, you just pick a nickname/screen name for the session but most of the chat action is still on Twitch. However you can comment on the peertube video by posting a reply to the video post by the stream user.https://gigaohm.bio/@soothspider/posts/AklPudAa9w4IgCr2RMAs for the PDFs... I haven't looked yet but maybe someone else has a link.

I login on twitch, login on gigaohm.bio, login now on gigaohmbiological.com, login I think on SendOwl, etc… I no longer know who I am or whether I am different people all over the place. I think I am just burnt out and not able to handle the irreducible complexity of 5 or so sources which if you master one doesn’t lead to knowing about the other. Not the fault of @jjcouey of course, but rather frustrating with the increasing complexity of the internet, and even my Apple products which used to be simple.

Yes, it's a massive problem. Identity 2.0 died way back when but the concept is that you should have 1 "identity" on the internet but many facets, so you can use that "Identity" provider as your "single sign on", but then expose different facets (e.g. nicknames, different personal information) to different services that need a login. But of course you can see how that would've been an impossible goal as every identity holder wants to keep you for themselves (e.g. Google wants you to keep your identity w/ Google so it's sticky and you can't easily quit Google). This is where OAuth really became popular as the only identity providers back then were the Big Tech platforms, instead of just 1 "site" that someone could spin up running Open Source software in a trusted configuration be the "provider" of your identity.Of course @tedb is working to unify (I think) all the logins associated and controlled by @jjcouey ... (of course to do that properly, it means migrating logins from one site to another... and of course that won't solve the Twitch issue or X... or Apple).

I’m not exactly sure what is meant here by “unify” but my preference is to have different credentials for each identity associated to a service (i.e. email/password) using a domain I own. I can then route each unique email to a main account (i.e. jj_twitch@gigaohm.bio --> jj_main@gigaohm.bio). A separate email and unique password is created for each service. Utilize a 2FA service where required. There are providers that allow for easy management of email DNS config and provide security, filtering, and authentication (i.e. DuoCircle.com). Then a proper email client provides for unified management of all accounts/identities in one place handling authorization using correct sender address. Use a separate email client to sandbox specific identities as desired. Password wallet to keep things organized.I've done this for decades and it has been a wonderful thing. If any account becomes compromised or spammed, simply shut down the unique email and move to a fresh one (i.e. jj_twitch --> jj2_twitch). Interested? Hit me up.

By unify in this case it’s a single login for here and the stream. Twitch etc. is all its own system and we have no control over that. But for the chat and the stream I would rather it not be complicated and have different logins etc. as @pmcdunnough noted it just burns you out.
