So many lefties making our reality Orwellian. Why does Ars Technica write such an article? This has nothing to do with tech. It has everything to do with “The Party”. They obviously feel objectivity and truth to be a threat only because they are members of “The Party” that needs to be perceived by themselves as the highest moral authority at any cost. @justinerickson just gotta keep tagging @emanuel - I'm probably annoying him, but he seems sincere about wanting to limit the bot to IT news. currently it's literally one third leftist propaganda because the sources have been ideologically infected.

@spacemanspiff @emanuel Interesting. Ya it’s horrible. I used to boost it to give them negative exposure but there is so much, I just decided doing that would just annoy and confuse people. I sincerely followed it despite its obvious leanings to get “IT news” but it really is just garbage leftist propaganda that is completely useless. Once in a great while they will post something that is actually informative (despite a leftist angle), but that’s literally 1 in 50.

@justinerickson @spacemanspiff as said, I am not interested in posting political views whatever the leaning. It’s much much more than usual because US elections unfortunately. If you can demonstrate that a news source repeatedly posts political views (I don’t care left or right) please cite the posts and I may kick them off the feed (forever)

@emanuel @spacemanspiff ok. Cool. But I’m sure we don’t agree on what is neither left or right based on what’s getting through. Wired, for example, is nothing but a bunch of lefties that write articles that flatter their world view. Same with Ars Technica.

@justinerickson @spacemanspiff ok, i dealt with the Ars Technica issue in a satisfactory way ( i think) - previously, @itnewsbot covered ALL Ars articles, now it will only post them if they are in their IT technology feed category. It may take a few hours for the change to go through. Let me know if you still see political views from Ars on the feed going forwards. Thanks for your feedback.

@emanuel @justinerickson @itnewsbot if only everyone else were this transparent. 😃 this supports my hypothesis that the bot is doing it's job, but rather, the sources aren't doing theirs. many of these purport to be about technology, but over the past decade, have become overtly political.notable to me are hackaday, for being MOSTLY actual tech stuff, if sometimes heavy on the obscure or nostalgic... and the atlantic, for being a PR arm of one political party.
