       Since US politics can be a little... strange? shallow at times? My theory is the person who wins is the one who seems more like who would be cast to play the President in a typical American movie where the President is good person. I think we have that one covered.

       @futurebird I think that is a good way of making sense of tonight and really the past month. I think she understood what she needed to do from the start and has gotten better at it by the day.

       @futurebird Yea... I'm afraid people are too trained by TV to be entertained by nonsense that has the shape of meaningful dialogue but doesn't mean anything (think Star-Trek, or  basically anything on TV) and don't bother trying to parse it all and don't realize they aren't really listening.  It's all just texture and scene to move action along.. so whoever looks the part and poses with the right energy "gets the part" - especially a reality TV characters.

       @futurebird i genuinely think 24 and Dennis Haysbert contributed to normalizing the idea of a black president for a lot of folks. many of whom probably weren't even aware of a bias or would otherwise be unreachable.
