       Would love to attend a Vintage Computing Festival.Alas, there's no masking requirement even in the middle of COVID surges; making it way to risky as my wife is severely immunocomprised (and I to a lesser extend).The community is talking a big talk about being inclusive, but it's really not.And yes, it's entirely doable to run events with mandatory masking, like XOXOFest did last month.

       @thomasfuchs and retro tech events are massively attended by older folks, you know, the ones who used this stuff when it was new?In other words, the people most vulnerable to COVID!It makes no god damn sense.

       I don’t know why the organizers don’t put their foot down to make these events and gatherings more accessible.Is it apathy?Maybe their politics?Actively hating disabled people?Being afraid that asshole speakers will cancel their appearance?I just don’t understand it.
