Debugging #Psion EPOC16 code with #DOSBox Staging connected to #MAME.There's a patch for the ASIC5 code which should be available in MAME's git repo very soon.Thank you to @jbmorley and Pernod for taking the time to get this to work.I am now a happy boy!#retrocomputing (cc @DOSBox_Staging)

You know what makes me the most happy about this?It means I don't have to try to make MAME's null modem behave like DOSBox. A project that's no longer necessary!

I've got some $dayjob stuff I really need to focus on over the next couple of weeks. After that... I'm not sure, but I really want to do something more Psion-centric.It would be great to get a quick revision of the PsiDrive board done before November.Otherwise I've got a few software projects that I could look at. Either tackling another SDK tool, or maybe going straight for one of two EPOC16 apps I've got in my head.We shall see!

@thelastpsion Were you still wanting a hand with that HDL code you found?

@thelastpsion I’ve been making a start on a C compiler https://github.com/devzendo/retro-c-compiler - just about to start the lexer so I’m some way off emitting assembler, but I’ll need to make it work against SIBO-friendly asm… which assembler would work?

@M0CUV Embarrassingly, I don't actually know... Any assembly I've worked on targeting SIBO has been old code, so I've used TASM or MASM in DOSBox. Theoretically NASM should work, but it won't handle long returns - mostly not a problem for the small memory model, but I've not looked into how EPOC16 handles returns from DYLs.

@thelastpsion ok no problem- I’ll pencil in a tentative NASM for now :)
