#MountainLion is taking FOREVER to install on this #headless #macbook and I don’t have high hopes. So if/when it fails I want to go with a sure bet. Which one should I do? #Debian #Ubuntu #Budgie

Okay, last hurrah. I am going to try the latest #MacOS this guy can handle- #HighSierra. I have #Debian ready for when this fails….

I’m done for the night. I have successfully installed #MacOS #HighSierra onto the #headless 2011 #macbookpro.I was also able to login to my Mac account as well. I will tinker around with it for a few more days before I switch to #Debian. It’s a shame that Apple gimps their hardware due to software. I really do like their metal unibody designs for their laptops and Mac minis.

I got my #Mac nostalgia feels, now onto #Debian! Since everything is end of life on MacOS 10.14 AND I want to connect it to the internet, I might as well switch to something that is maintained. Plus, I can install #Gnome for more of that Mac feelGnome > Mac Desktop

I’m at a loss…. I installed #Debian twice to only boot into a black screen after install.Welp, I guess I am off to the land of #Ubuntu with a quick stop at #LXLE (I don’t think it will install)

The #headless #macbookpro is up and running like a charm with #Ubuntu #Budgie.It was a painless install. No driver or proprietary issues; it just runs.
