It occurred to me recently that a video is a three dimensional array of pixels that we view in slices along one axis. And what if we viewed it along a different axis?Like a well-known 1920 wide x 1040 tall x 483 frames film opener as 1920 wide x 483 tall x 1040 frames?

Or maybe 483 wide x 1040 tall x 1920 frames?

I brute forced this with a simple shell script that took me a couple of days to run on this slow computer. Eg, for rows:mkdir -p /tmp/onefor top in $(nums 0-1039 ) ; do rout=$(printf "r%04d" $top) for file in ???.ppm ; do out=r$file pnmcut -top $top -height 1 $file > /tmp/one/$out done pnmcat -tb /tmp/one/r* | pnmtopng > $rout.pngdoneffmpeg -framerate 24 -i r%04d.png rows.mp4

Getting the source ppm files left as an exercise for the reader.
