@stux Am I guessing right, that the different plants, in nature at least, have to coordinate the night they bloom, so that they can pollinate each other that way? 🤔

@stux Thanks for sharing that, stux! My folks' night-blooming cereus blossomed just last week. They have a plant bed in front of their house filled with them.

@stux Night Blooming Cereus? My Mom had this plant for *years* without a bloom. I got to stay up all night the night it finally did bloom so we could take pictures.

@stux Fascinating that it clearly doesn't use "amount of light" as an indicator of night. I wonder if it's a lack of UV light? Gorgeous plant!

@stux my mom has a couple of these plants and video chats me on evenings they are starting to bloom. luckily the buds don’t all bloom at once, so she can enjoy them for a few evenings every year. if i’m fortunate on my visits home, i get to enjoy their amazing perfume!

@stux Is this CGI, because I've seen them and they are a little over hand sized. Certainly not bigger than my german shepard like this video.

@stux Interesting that people pick up on the Little Shop of Horrors vibe of the look of the buds, but are sleeping on the use of Beauty and the Beast's opening music.(Both composed by Alan Menken.)
