@delta Really? Everyone I know specifies what kind of mushrooms they bought. Restaurants won't just serve "mushroom sauce" either.

@susie@blob.cat the generic store mushrooms i see where i'm at are just labeled as "white" mushrooms, and stuff that uses them tend to end up labeled as being "mushrooms"

@susie@blob.cat this is in walmart, and many other large stores and restaurants, so, if it weren't allowed trouble would have been raised yesterdaypack of mushrooms just labelled as "white mushrooms", i have a can thats just labeled as "mushroom pieces", if you go to a restaurant and find something with mushrooms it'll just be labelled as just that, like "steak and mushrooms" (unless they're trying to be fancy by specifying shiitake mushrooms or something, but if they're not then its just "mushrooms")now to be fair, other types of mushrooms are labeled as what they are, but the generic type, nah those are just mushroomsif i had to guess this is one of them weird americanisms
