Anti-political-anxiety activity box. Got the GOTV postcard thing set up— going to bring these to the floor captains potluck next week and see what people want to do. I have very cute handwriting. These are all going to PA!

If I get these 200 done I'll do a bunch more. The mail-out date is Oct. 11 Sending them all at once for bigger impact. I wouldn't mind sending some postcards about getting *registered* to vote but have not found the lists for that one yet.

I like doing GOTV and voter registration because I kind of hate endorsing candidates. However, this type of work generally benefits Democrats. Now why is that?

@futurebird I think it's sadly for a few reasons.Primary one is that the Republicans (the other major duopoly party) don't like or need GOTV aside from rallies and churches. They'd rather "push" (suppress voters from anyone else using the power they already have to do so) than "pull" (active GOTV efforts that could go badly for them by, say, making people who like a local senator but loathe trump/vance show up)1/?

@futurebird Centrists tend not to vote, unless they are prodded. Extremists, every single time.(I've had some success getting people to consider voting by pointing out that their not voting means my vote is proportionately more effective :D )

@futurebird I've moved a bunch and in my limited experience I've only ever had someone approach me about registering to vote in person (either LWV tabling or individuals who get paid to register people). I'm not sure "lists of people who aren't registered" exist? I'm sure you could make them by taking list of registered voters and subtracting that from a list of addresses for a given area, but I don't know if anyone does on large scale.
