       @LordWoolamaloo I really like this; thanks for drawing my attention to it. Is that the church next door to the bookshop? I'll have to try and find the window. While I'm posting: An aside in answer to our where to find cake in Bruntsfield dilemma yesterday: we bought supermarket cake along with the food we had to buy and the plan is to visit a cafe soon. The result should be two cakes, which seems like a win..

       @shortcolin Yes, that's the one, right next door. A couple of times I have been lucky to be in there when the sun is at an angle, so the coloured light gets projected onto the rear wall near the window.Two cakes is always a win!
