The President is the leader of an executive team of 400 administrators that operate the—very sluggish—controls of the imperial juggernaut. And nobody is allowed within shouting distance of that team, much less the top seat, unless they're fully invested in the Empire. @timnitGebru Having said that, there are terrible imperial leaders, and enlightened, relatively progressive ones. Like contrasting Caligula with Marcus Aurelius. Or Trump compared to practically anybody else.It's worth voting for the Democrat this time. Some of the things they do will suck. But they'll suck significantly less overall than another Trump presidency.

@futurebird @timnitGebru @cstross Judging by the coordinated attack on #Biden, there's a good chance he was pushed out by the #billionaires/#donor-class for either the proposed 25% tax on them or the temporary stoppage of weapons to #israel or both. #Harris will be subject to the same forces, and if the 25% tax originated from her office, she won't stand a chance; & there's not enough #small-donor support to make her a viable candidate without.This had nothing to do with the #polls, IMHO.
