       US Congress members should be prohibited from stock trading 🤷 It's so clear they are making use of insider trading, how else do they in avg beat the market by 18-33% :nkoFacepalm2: But ofc this is impossible since congress is the one checking congress and corupt senators don't even wanna talk about itIt should not be that hard to set some basic LOGICAL rules for people who want to be in power

       @stux the entire concept of insider trading is fundamentally flawed as it's basically impossible to police either way. As a casual investor American SEC is beyond incompetent in every sense of the word. The whole US stock market is a whalepool and everyone knows it but are OK with it as long as the remoras get fed once now and then.

       @stux I'm not defending congress member's participating in the stock market, but the ability to beat the market by 18-33% really isn't that difficult. As a gamer I saw what happened to NVidia Graphics cards during Covid, and when I set up a backup IRA this last summer, put about 9% into nVidia stock. That stock alone is up 200%, and the portfolio is up 40% as a result. I hadn't considered AI as part of the buying decision, or I might have put more in.
