The US Supreme Court’s contribution to the ‘ignore all previous instructions’ meme is the worst one yet

@liamvhogan If the Dems were serious, the result would be a drone attack on Mar a Lago.

Actually the funniest thing ever for Biden to do would now be simply to expand and stack the court and make Barack Obama a judge. C’mon Joe be a hero

@liamvhogan That said, they have kind of set things up for a dictatorship.

@RanTLaw that ‘the law is a fig leaf over power’ is something I want to believe to be wrong, but I’m having a harder and harder time adhering to liberal democratic thinking on this

@liamvhogan We are better at hiding it here.Idly wondering if arresting associate justices of the USSC is an 'official act'

@RanTLaw @liamvhogan we are marginally better at hiding it here. Read the SCOTUS decision about how the nature of the exercise of power requires immunity from consequences and then read @daedalus's case against Services Australia where they earnestly argue that the nature of the exercise of power requires exemption from scrutiny of decisions.

@RanTLaw @liamvhogan @daedalus the trope of "I can't do whatever I want if the response is outrage at what I did" feels like it should be checked and that it'll be a bad time in a lot of places if it's not.

@geordie @liamvhogan @daedalus Absolutely. There is a tendency for decision-makers to seek impunity for their decisions. See also the NACC refusing to do anything with the Robodebt referrals

@daedalus @RanTLaw @liamvhogan "actually the president is infallible" still loses to "actually the human head is removable"
