If there is the term "enshittification", meaning something getting worse over time, what would be the opposite? engoodification?

@BrodieOnLinux Deshitification.By the way, I see spelling the word with I and not E in the middle a grossly missed opportunity. It should be "Enshitifecation".

@BrodieOnLinux I think of enshitification as being much more specific than that: it's the purposeful erosion of a service by a provider in pursuit of ever-larger revenue share. Something going to hell on its own or by some less purposeful mechanism is something else altogether.

@BrodieOnLinux I don't like both terms. "enshittification" only describes the software, but not the people. I read in some blog a term "user domestication" which much better captures the intentions that corporations have. They want a domesticated user, that will accept everything without asking. Then the reverse process would be just "freeing" ;)

@BrodieOnLinux 改善 or カイゼン (Kaizen) in Japanese I guess but that doesn't really work in English of course.

@BrodieOnLinux Here ye go: this is literally the opposite of taking something of beauty and turning it to shit (see the section on the Mythbusters episode puncturing "can't polish a turd"). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorodango

@BrodieOnLinuxMaybe "Pulling a Cyberpunk"?That's kinda the opposite since it was originally terrible because CDPR didn't do their own testing, but they cared enough to actually fix it and keep pushing new stuff for a long time afterwards.
