@protonprivacy The EU behaving like the SS...most people on the street don't even know about chat control, or that such a thing is being talked about, and that they're using CSAM to push it through, when it'll actually make investigations harder. Then again many things the EU decides many people only know about until it's all been decided.

These exempted parties also have a cynical disposition.So, reports that may not be justified, taken out of their (complicated) context, are processed by parties who's purpose is to look for reasons to blame.

@protonprivacy This is probably one of the worst disasters that can happen to EU.1. Chat scanning won't catch any criminals, they will just change the way they communicate.2. A lot of false positives will be generated which will be a burden on police and potentially a huge problem for the falsely accused.3. Authoritarian regimes WILL abuse the technology to clamp down on dissent.

@Natanox @Daemon The exact text of the latest proposal has not yet been released, but Proton would not be willing to comply with the previous drafts that we have seen. We will keep on engaging with all stakeholders to make sure that encryption and the fundamental right to privacy are protected.
