Somebody should fork #KDE and make a desktop environment that resembles the layout of the mid-late 2000s Mac OSX versions, with a proper global menu bar, a dock, etc. Something with a little polish.

@adrint You can already do this with KDEYou can have the dock thing and you can set an option for a global menu bar

@coolboymew I know, but I want something configured like this out of the box, so I can give it to a friend and they can enjoy it too.

@adrint Pretty sure you can install this very quickly. Have a Mac OS like theme. I don't remember if the dock is built in or not, but it's possible too. Otherwise, the global menu bar already exist, you can probably get close to that in like 5 mins

@coolboymew The particular configuration from that old screenshot took a bit longer than that, using latte-dock, a custom more configurable menu widget, and getting the various plasma / qt themes, window decorations. Even if I can do it myself relatively quickly, that still doesn't satisfy wanting to share it with others. A fork or config script of some sort would allow me to share that with a friend instead of having to walk them through the entire process, or have them leave me with their machine.

@adrint I swear it should be really easy now. Have a new install with 5 and try it out. Can't vouch for 6 yet, been a tad annoyed my prefered media player + widget is not available and compatible

@coolboymew @adrint probably won't scratch the same itch but I find the PlasMusic toolbar to work fine enough on Plasma 6, and better than the default media controls.

@adrint @coolboymew the KDE user store probably has a config you can load in a few clicks to achieve this
