To put $56 billion into perspective:The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776.If on that day you had started collecting a salary of $1 million per month, your lifetime earnings to date would be a little shy of $3 billion. To collect $56 billion on a monthly salary, you would have had to start around 2640 BCE. Give or take a decade or two, that's about when the first pyramid was built in Egypt.https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/elon-musk-wins-tesla-shareholder-vote-56-billion-pay-package-rcna156892

Tesla has around 140,000 employees. Assuming that the average pay for all Tesla workers, down to the lowest paid, is anything less than $400,000 — which is orders of magnitude higher than whatever the average is — a $56B pay package means that Musk himself is more valuable to the company than all of its workers, combined. Given a choice between getting rid of Musk and getting rid of every single employee, the board would keep Musk and lose all of the skills and expertise of its 140,000 workers.I wouldn't trust those people to hold my beer.
