#FreeBSD users running on hardware (not VMs), which operating systems do you have installed on the same machine? Think of one machine and select all OSes you have installed:

@danmcd @emaste I thought about dual booting my #OpenIndiana workstation with FreeBSD, but I got stressed about how to ensure the different zfs implementations were safe with each other, same with boot loader. So illumos has its box to itself.Though it’s likely getting replaced with SmartOS this weekend so I can play with the WebUI. And at that point, I could definitely use a bsd vm on there for poutriere builds.

@emaste @josephholsten @danmcd I’m in the same camp, considering moving my fbsd hypervisor to smartOS so I can take advantage of crossbow network mgmt. I think it’d be nifty if we had something like that on fbsd.

@pete_wright @danmcd @emaste @josephholsten I started playing with SmartOS in a VM as an experiment for this same idea and then I learned the hard way that the docs all suck, the network management is powerful but sucks, managing the physical disks sucks, I don't have GELI and it's unclear how to do full disk encryptionbasically everything I care about sucks on Solaris derivatives at this point even though the kernel is *very* good at many things

@emaste @josephholsten @danmcd @feld ah I hadn’t gotten to the FDE part of my research yet.I kinda dropped it when I realized I couldn’t easily import my raw disk images.
