We need mass working class mobilization, worker strikes, and a building of revolutionary consciousness in order to dismantle capitalism and establish socialism, and we must reject reformism at all cost, as true liberation can only be achieved through revolution. Do you agree?

@Radical_EgoCom Again, I’m sort of on the fence on this. A Revolution is preferable, but if reform is still possible in the minds of the people, no amount of political education will change that. Also, once started, a revolution cannot be stopped. They are quite a bloody business and the price of failure is almost certainly death.Tl;dr - Politically, I agree, but practically, I do not.

@enoch_exe_inc Regardless of what people's preferences are, reform will never be able to create socialism due to the fact that capitalists will never let any kind of reform that would take away their power pass, something that was more than proven in the 20th century and which is if further explained in this audiobook or Rosa Luxemburg's "Reform or Revolution," if you have the time to listen to it:https://youtu.be/MVZgtmGmyl4?si=OEgR9PF5XtvMzLez

@Radical_EgoCom @enoch_exe_inc Can we expect anything but genocide from the #Oligarchs. Or is there a point where they will concede power. I fear not. Crackdowns are growing. It's starting with #SEXUAL IDENTITY, reproduction, immigration, humanist supporters of peace and justice in #GAZA. etc. It is, I think , reminiscent of #ColdWar. Hair trigger atmosphere. Humanity, is taking up sides. Both sides (3 sides?) owned by #Sociopathic #Oligarchs who have near unassailable power.

@clearwater53 @Radical_EgoCom @enoch_exe_inc Governments are small. Oligarchs are smaller yet. But the citizenry is huge.Asshole oligarchs and asshole governments can only do things as long as the citizens don't massively oppose them.So your question boils down to, will the citizens of various countries sit on their asses while assholes commit genocide in their name, and make them pay for it?I'm sad to say that so far, the answer looks like 'yes'. But it doesn't have to be.

@Radical_EgoCom @enoch_exe_inc disagree. A large enough workers' movement can get reforms implemented (especially with a threat for revolution behind the shoulders), unless it gets hijacked, but that's an issue you have with the revolution too (and we've been there, done that)

@oblomov @enoch_exe_inc I never said that workers' movements can't make reforms. I said that reforms can't create socialism and that revolution is the only method of creating socialism.

@Radical_EgoCom @enoch_exe_inc still disagree. With a large enough movement (and corresponding power in the legislature, executive and judiciary) you can implement any system.

@oblomov @enoch_exe_inc That has been proven to not be true with every single reformist movement aimed at creating socialism. I would really recommend reading "Reform or Revolution," as it goes into explicit detail as to why reforms can not be effective at creating socialism.

@punissuer @enoch_exe_inc @oblomov And what if they start firing shots anyway? More likely than not, the people who don't die will give up out of fear of dying. That's not to mention the other various physical and psychological tactics bourgeois states can use against such a working class uprising. It's for this reason why I don't think that relying only on a general strike would be sufficient. A general strike combined with a standing working class army to defend against retaliation is better

@HarbingerOfSalem @oblomov @enoch_exe_inc Socialism does need to gradually gain acceptance, but if by that you mean to vote Socialism into existence through reforms, that isn't going to happen. Capitalists won't let it happen due to them wanting to maintain their power, and eventually, a revolution will be necessary to actually establish Socialism.

@HarbingerOfSalem @oblomov @enoch_exe_inc An actual revolution will require a complete break from capitalist structures instead of a compromise with it because capitalism having any part in an attempt to overthrow capitalism will result in that attempt failing due to capitalisms inherent nature to sustain itself.

@Radical_EgoCom Agree, but to get the working class to reject the reformist illlusion we have to not just shout at them from outside the reformist organisations.

@Radical_EgoCom Enter the reformist-dominated organisations with the intention of organising support among the rank and file for revolutionary demands.
