Tonight was the first session of our co-op/solo #Ironsworn #Starforged game, in which we come together for co-op sessions, then venture off on solo treks which we chronicle in a wiki.

And it was pretty damned cool. We came up with some great quests for our individual characters. I can't wait to see where they take us.

@nukehavoc May I ask what wiki you use for chronicling solo treks? How exactly does that work, both synchonously and asynchronously? I'm new to both #ironsworn and online co-op play, though not to roleplaying in general.

@birv2 We've got ideas, but we're still testing them out. High-level, we're using a wiki to track locations in the Forge (the galaxy/playing area in Starforged). When folks go to an area, they interact with it via the talk page for that location (or NPC?). Things that become canon are then incorporated into the wiki page.We haven't talked about how we're recording solo-play; I plan on doing short journal entries in my character's wiki page. #Starforged #Ironsworn #Solo #CoOp

@birv2 We also plan to have some real-time co-op sessions as the story demands (or when we feel like hanging out :)). The wiki approach is based on a blog post I wrote many, many years ago, in which I speculated about using a wiki as a way of getting around the inevitable challenges with play-by-post. https://www.nuketown.com/designing-a-play-by-wiki-game/

@birv2 For my own solo play, I'm using Obsidian, which is wiki-like, or pen-and-paper journals.
