@kelbot Didn't you once mention that you'd found an alternative to using calibre to generating your epubs? All I can find now is the one script that does gmi -> epub but it's anyway via calibre. Gosh Mastodon has absolutely useless search

@kelbot ended up writing a new one during my holiday. will add gmi support later this year. now just web -> epub (and markdown/pdf)

@lypanov Hey! Sorry I forgot to respond to this. I think I do have a little tool I found that converts txt to epub without calibre. I will try to find it tomorrow if you're still curious.

@kelbot no worries anyway have my own thang now. it converts websites to markdown with local images via a bunch of libraries. then uses pandoc to convert the md into pdf / epub. working well up to now. has a bunch of very... me specific things.like when i'm walking the dog i like the new "Alex, you're at 33%" announcements I just added. Then I know I've read enough for the day and can move on to podcasts.(I create "week books" from the links i collect, so 1/6th per day)
