Who is the most morally compromised of our justices? If you think it is a tie you may vote for more than one. If you think one or more of them has vastly outstripped the others in failing to live up to their office, limit your vote to the greatest failures.

@futurebird Missing the other two nutcases, though. Those six “justices” are nothing but republican political operatives.

@futurebird it's hard to tell who is the most corrupt. It's easier to see who has had a harder time keeping their corruption out of the public eye.

@pablor I don't know why we can't have more poll options it drives me nuts. Twitter had four, so mastodon has four. That's not a good reason to have four options.

@futurebird @pablor other platforms allow more than 4 & they show up on Mastodon, so it's clearly not a technical issue.

@futurebird Maybe an unpopular one, but I am saying Roberts because you asked which is the most "morally compromised" and Roberts has the largest gulf between what he considers to be "good" and what he has actually done. The fact that what Alito and Thomas believe to be "good" is appalling to me does not detract from the fact that they do seem to be genuinely pursuing what they believe is good, horrifying as that is.Second place probably goes to Thomas, who I believe did not originally intend to be like this but has been a perfect example of "each step seemed so reasonable". Alito has just always been a monster, and Kavenaugh is a moral failure primarily on a personal level rather than as a matter of policy.

@futurebird May be just me, but for me to deem someone 'morally compromised' I want to think they're aware of it, & literally the only on that list that I think might be is Kavanaugh. Alito & Thomas have no inkling they've done anything wrong, & Roberts is mired in this comfortable & highly self-serving ends-means rationalization that lets him justify literally anything to 'save the court.' Brett OTOH has some fairly obvs quid pro quos THAT WE CAN SEE.

@futurebird Roberts.Sure the others have done egregious things, but he, as Chief Justice, has allowed and thereby enabled them to do so. He is supposed to be the standard by which they operate.

@futurebird The fase perception that the Supreme Court = Justice is GONE and it dosen't matter if by some miracle Alito, Thomas, Brett and the religious freak woman are gone. The fact that this "court" is NOT elected, has NO ETHICAL RULES, and it's for life makes it an insidious breeding ground for corruption. The Supreme Court is where the politician put their enforcers to beat anyone to submission, that is how American Democracy conceived it.

@futurebird @pablor One of my mutuals here is on an instance that allows like 50 poll options.

@futurebird @pablor I wanna be able to vote for my favorite letter in a poll. My favorite number. I wanna see a poll so long you feel significantly older by the time you've scrolled to the bottom of it. I want do you like the color of the poll jokes!

@futurebird @pablor 255, but if there are more than 4 automatically hide the poll behind a button so it doesn't hog vertical space in the timeline.I'm a strong believer in letting people do things that seem excessive or incomprehensible as long as they aren't harming anyone, on the basis that it might be the right thing for them or even the best thing overall, and it's none of my business if I don't get it.

@futurebird I think they're all equally morally compromised, but Thomas has vastly outstripped the others by virtue of his being in that position a decade and half longer than them.
