AI is going to spark a new dawn of human understanding and the valuation of knowledge. It will do this by making everything you read online almost certainly complete bullshit, leading to a renaissance of people engaging verified experts on a commercial basis.

That thing where your grandma used to say "you can't believe anything you read on that Google I'll go to the shop and speak to the expert there" is totally coming true. Just 25 years late.

@geordie i suspect pharmacists will find themselves extra busy fielding random medical questions now that few doctors bulk bill and the internet is even less reliable than it was

@geordie I think you are going to be really really disappointed in humanity in the near future

@geordie "verified experts on a commercial basis." - now knowledge inequality comes to chat, when poor people, read 90% of poulace, don't have access to verified factual information and meaningful education.

@geordie ...and who verifies the experts? I guarantee you whatever answer you give will have executives and/or a board that can be captured. Have you not been paying attention?

@geordie This used to be the MSM, but they squandered their credibility long ago through pandering to the rich. All major Canadian newspapers endorse the Conservatives, every election, for example. The US media seems desperate to elect Trump - the NYT leading the charge. No progressives that I know read the MSM now, and for good reason - they are not a reliable source of news. So, hopefully independent media will continue to expand and fill the gap. I do pay for that. #media

@geordie Well, I thought the coming of a global pandemic would spark a new dawn of understanding of public health. So.
