#philosophy - Is the world weird, or is that just a fault in our perceptions based on a false premise that there is, or should be order in the world and space about us?

This has it's liniage in the question of the 70's and 80's regarding people who were tagged as insane and institutionalized, along with the observations from "Catch 22" where a pilot tries to get grounded as insane, only to loose a friend and insist that he needs to go beck into the air, and gets grounded. There's a lot of other weird things going on in that book, but I'm curios if others are considering the question of weird, crazy, etc., not as a flaw of the perceived but of the perceiver.

This is not to belittle the truly tragic situations that various mental illnesses obtain. This is more the observation that physics has well documented the observation that when something happens in physics that you can't explain with the knowledge available to you, the layman may disregard it, but the scientist will see it as entirely new knowledge to develop. The exclamation 'That's odd', or 'that's weird' is what leads the curious mind to explore. Where will this lead us.

Strange things happen when you aren't looking, and truth is stranger than fiction are well known aphorisms. The latter is so true that I'm well aware of one author who tried to publish a story based on actual events in his life. The story only got published (If I recall correctly) in an anthology of other works of his, as a result of editors thinking it too unbelievable.
