I guess it's a little crazy to do this here but apartment hunting in nyc is even crazier... i'm looking for a 2-3 bedroom in woodside, sunnyside or jackson heights queens, ~15 mins walking to lirr#nyc #queens would appreciate boosts! thanks

@emma Don't rule out the coops we've lived in one for nearly two decades and it's wonderful.

@carrideen @futurebird If you don't mind me asking, how/where did you find your coop? Are they on Zillow? thanks:)

@emma @carrideen It was 17 years ago but I think it was zillow, though I don't know if they still list them. coops in NYC are more rare than they ought to be. (something the mayor could work on if he cares about middle-class families!)For example in our neighborhood there are FOUR. That's it. So, they are rare. But they almost always have openings. DO talk to current residents to find out the down low.

@futurebird @emma @carrideen I think they're generally the medium-aged buildings. In Manhatten, I think they're mostly downtown. (I lived 20yrs in big one at 9thSt/3rdAve)
