@aral I don't disagree, well, okay I do. I think Capitalism is an indicator of humanity. I want to be wrong, but the older I get, the more I think people are selfish fuck wits. There are outliers, but they are not the norm.Billionaires are scum, capitalism is bad, but I am not sure I see something that wouldn't be exploited by fuck wits

@jonoabroad @aral capitalism is bad, but do we have a viable alternative?Socialism has tried in few countries. Result: the richness of the ruling class varies, everyone else is poorer than than in capitalism. Ever heard of Aral sea? That's what it does.Other options?

@aurisc4 @jonoabroad@mastodon.nz @aral Communism is a viable alternative to capitalism. The collective ownership of the means of production allows for the equitable distribution of resources and the prioritization of human needs over profit motives, creating a more just and sustainable society for all.

@Radical_EgoCom @aral except that it has one major problem: on a state level you need a command&control structure for the whole thing, which turns entire communist state into effectively one uber-corporation that has all the same issues of a corporation, just one or more orders of magnitude worse. Ah, and then there is a leadership issue - what kind of people do you think will bubble up to the C-suite of that corporation?
