Looks like XML to me, but that's not how I would put "dictionary" (keys and values) into XML.But that's what Apple does:<dict><key>aps-environment</key><string>development</string><key>com.apple.developer.usernotifications.time-sensitive</key><true/></dict>

@bugaevc the author of the qoute seems to have NIH syndrome. The purpose of distro is to provide a combination of software that works together. End user needs for things to work. If they, the source doesn't matter. If flathub ships sooner than distro, the user benefits from the change.The reason why distro packages exist is because historically there were problems with compatibility.

@jonoabroad @aral capitalism is bad, but do we have a viable alternative?Socialism has tried in few countries. Result: the richness of the ruling class varies, everyone else is poorer than than in capitalism. Ever heard of Aral sea? That's what it does.Other options?

@Radical_EgoCom @aral except that it has one major problem: on a state level you need a command&control structure for the whole thing, which turns entire communist state into effectively one uber-corporation that has all the same issues of a corporation, just one or more orders of magnitude worse. Ah, and then there is a leadership issue - what kind of people do you think will bubble up to the C-suite of that corporation?

@bugaevc I use CLI because it talks to me when something goes wrong.And I love to focus on writing code without thinking about committing it and deal with committing when logical conclusion point is reached. So far all GUIs feel like it's too easy to make a mistake in such work style.Oh, and I do use git on 3 different OSes, so CLI is the same in all of them.
