Aaaand in typical davbot fashion, both extremely lucky, and extremely fucked at the same time.No more than a minute after that last post I'm turning down a side street less than 10k front brakes grind out of nowhere, off goes the front wheel, fork hits the pavement and I go over the handlebars slowly.I'm okay physically.Brake disc is fucked. Okay. Not a killer cost and only couple days off the road tops.Let's get the wheel back on.Fuck.Fuckfuckfuck.My suspension forks are bowed.

The bike is in the car right now. I'll fire up pics of the damage when I feel like lugging it out. I just contacted the seller via their website to talk about parts. The bike shop I went to specialized in racers not suspension but they were the closest open well rated. The guy said in no way he ever "just bending them back" manually and have someone to ride these safely and I agree. He also said by the looks of the damage it was my fault. I had the quick release set incorrectly.

@DavBot Holy shit dude. I'm glad that you're okay. Sucks for your bike.So what happened exactly? Your front wheel popped off because the quick release was on the wrong side? Was it just not on tight enough?I used to do a shit ton of urban cycling. I had to learn to fix almost everything my self. If your forks are bent, then replacing them is the right thing to do. NEVER fuck with the frame. That includes the forks.What a bummer. Hope it gets fixed soon.

@Mrfunkedude Apparently the little tab on one of the washers was not locked into the tab slot, so it was just insecure enough to slowly work itself out, so the wheel fell into the brake disk, slid out and I went over the handles on one fork.I fell slow and landed flat. Helmet saved my ass a trip to the hospital as they do.Kinda pissed the instructions don't mention to pay attention to that tab's direction, and my hubris for not cross referencing other assemblies putting the wheel on. -_-

@DavBot That's a lesson learned I'll bet.Learn EVERYTHING about your bike. Down to what the tension needs to be in your crank set. Knowing how and why it operates the way it does will save you a lot of repair bills in the future.

@Mrfunkedude So far I've sunk over 2k in credit/financing, on the cusp of maxing out if I don't turn a smoll payday from deliveries.I made 15 fuckin bucks total before getting my first huge repair bill. What the fucking fuck? lol.

Parts/repair guesstimated to be around 400 bucks.I sunk everything I had into this bike, and the gambit was to make at least 200 a month in the next month to be able to keep making the 5th and last monthly payments. This was without a 400 dollar repair job to start making the cash.So I'm fucked.In another universe, the quick release went while going 30 next to a city bus.I guess financially fucked is better than dead.I made 8 bucks in deliveries.

@Mrfunkedude and to top it off, my SD card filled up earlier in the day so I didn't even get footage of me eating shit!Smashed the fixture of my bodycam to the chest mount too. Cam should be fine, I think I have a spare clippy thingy but those are like 5 bucks, either over priced or comes with a bunch of other fixtures.
