Watching a few "Mentour Now!" videos. His main channel is about physical risk management in commercial flights, and accident stories. His side channel has a lot of industry analysis.https://www.youtube.com/@MentourNow/videosYou know how some insane big businesses like to demand exactly which days you'll take for vacation 12 months out? I get the impression from this channel that airlines and aircraft manufacturer ask themselves similar questions about billions of dollars and 3 to 5 years. It's impossible.

@progo I used to watch Mentour all the time, but I can't anymore, because his videos are just too long and seem over produced.I watch blancolirio and Dan Gryder Probable Cause. I think there's a couple of others too, but they don't come to mind at the moment.Dan Gryder really gets under some people's skin, lol !

@IceCubeSoup Last couple of years I've been watching lots of outdoor and camping channels. Outdoor Gear Review is a big leader in USA, with product reviews and non-review outdoor trip videos.I have all but ceased watching him because, even as a professional photographer, he has gone batshit crazy with the orange-and-teal filter. It's unwatchable. Sometimes I'll download a trip video and play it in VLC with the color turned off."Mentor Pilot" incident videos don't bother me.

@progo I think it was when he released his own App that it started to get under my skin.His video *ARE* good, there's no doubt about that. It's just that there's only about 3 minutes where he gets to the crux of the issue, and that's the only part I want to see.

@IceCubeSoup ah. I may not watch this channel for as long as it lasts, but for now I feel like I'm learning about risk analysis and risk management from the whole story, not just the verbal money shot.

@progo Please be aware that Probable Cause: Dan Gryder can be an "acquired taste".He puts up a video every Sunday evening, going over the fatal general aviation accidents for the previous week. He takes the video down after a week. People get really sensitive about public discussion of the recent deaths of friends and family members. @progo All the other videos which remain on his channel are not of the "recent fatal accident" subject matter. Usually they are instructional in some way. But they aren't the point of the channel for me; I'm not a pilot. It's interesting material, but I'm mostly interested in his unfiltered commentary about current events and accidents. So I try to watch the premiers, or shortly thereafter, so I don't miss one in case he has to take it down for whatever reason.

Sometimes you can get clues from the CVR 1 or 2 flights back.Mentour Pilot says that the culture is about finding all possible causes and not assigning blame to individuals except in extreme cases.
