@jcrabapple If you enable noscripting you can set up a keyboard macro to quickly disable it in:Settings > Extensions > Cog > Manage Extension Shortcuts

@teamtuck Ok, well basically in order to use youtube this is the bare minimum that you have to give them. (from ublock origin anyway)I usually use invidious. So, I leave noscript on in case sites have iframes with youtube embeds. This will basically block all youtube videos. But, in the rare chance that I do actually want to see the youtube video, it's nice to be able to just hit my keyboard macro and enable JavaScript so it pops into view. without having to also enable cosmetic filtering. In this case it's a conscious decision though, instead of it being something that happens secretly in the BG.Disabling remote fonts is just another minor thing that I do because I'm a paranoid schizo when it comes to YT and don't want to give them anything. I'll use my default browser fonts thx.Admittedly, this is kind of just a quick and dirty solution. The drawback here is that there is less granular control when it comes to loading JS.You can just load only a few scripts if you know what you are doing using Ublock. But there's not a quick and easy way to do that and most of the time it's just not worth the effort to pick and choose unless you really don't trust the site.
