Tonight, the snac.bsd.cafe instance will run from here. The Raspberry PI 4's internal SD is in read only, while the disk is ZFS, with #BastilleBSD managing the snac jail.CC: @stesnac #snac #snac2 #BSDCafeSnac

@stefano @stesnac Aynone can say whatever they want - I love those setups that are hand crafted and simple 😎 Sometimes, things are more enjoyable when they don't fit 100% into the so called "perfect look and feel" category!Btw: The software side itself is complex enough

@jhx @stesnac I agree. Not those boring servers or cloud stuff. You plug your hardware, plug the cables and run the software.

@stefano @stesnac I love those simple but robust setups. How the current performance of #snac2?

@jhxMind you, IKEA stuff can be more challenging due to the poor documentation 🤣 @stefano @stesnac

@gyptazy @stesnac It's improving day by day. The dev seems to be very good person and is open to suggestion, fixes, etc. As soon as I notice something, the dev immediately starts studying the problem and fixing. It's amazing. Using an external app is better for performance as the embedded web interface has to render the html page, but it's ok. On a VPS, it's good.

@stefano @stesnac I see, just transmitting the data on APIs saves data, bandwidth etc. which can quickly mess up such a little system

@gyptazy @stesnac exactly. I want to try to cache media somewhere else - maybe using an external nginx reverse proxy with media caching, so only the JSONs and API will be requested.
