       Working with a large organization, we got the news that we would not be forced to use an AI chat bot on the website. Big cheer in the room. Absolutely no need for this crap bot but senior management just loves these things

       @gerrymcgovern Makes no sense. Irrationality at the top end of the economy grand scale right now, anything AI makes stock go up and they'll literally penalize you if you don't.My take: it's disdain for human workers especially post-pandemic; a reactionary pivot to punish people pulling more toward worker's rights and better jobs; and both wall street and the C suite absolutely eat it up.

       @trisweb @gerrymcgovern There were calls to integrate an AI chat bot as an interface to our documentation system. So we tried it out, extensively, with several of the current leading systems. Even when they were pointed exclusively at the documentation the results were simply embarrassing. Half the responses were plausible sounding complete fabrications and only someone who already knew the answer could have identified what was correct. Which rather makes the whole operation pretty useless.
