I've now run through six calibrations of the SoundID Reference software. One interesting note: there's a clear dip and then a peak in the bass response in all these calibrations, but the frequency of these deviations shifts upwards by 5 to 10 Hz if the room door is closed.Listening to a range of music with these calibrations (the last is the best) is quite revealing. Some recordings sound even better. Others sound unexpectedly lacklustre, including some I've always rated.

Happily the debut sideSister album (https://sidesister.bandcamp.com/) doesn't sound any worse listening on the newly calibrated Focal speakers. But all the heavy lifting on the mixing and mastering was done using SoundID Reference on headphones, so that seems logical.I suppose I can put this Sonarworks reference microphone to work on future recordings? No reason not to?
